Gregory Byrd grew up in the Florida Keys, where some of his poems are set. His experiences with fishing and the Florida landscape influence his poems as much as his interest in myth, archetypes, visual art and music. Greg’s most recent book, Salt and Iron, came out with Snake Nation Press in 2014.  1995, his chapbook Florida Straits won the YellowJacket Press Florida Poets Chapbook Contest.  He has been published in various journals such as Tampa Review, Apalachee Review, Cortland Review, and, in Albanian translation, in Milosao and Poeteka. Among his awards are a Pushcart Prize nomination and a Fulbright fellowship in poetry to Albania in 2011. He lives in Clearwater, Florida where he fishes, sails and cycles. He teaches at St. Petersburg College.  Poet Silvia Curbelo calls his poems “Life-sized, transformative and singularly American.”  Florida Poet Laureate Peter Meinke calls his poems “painterly narratives told with a quiet intensity that produces, like all good poetry, a mixture of sorrow and relief.” Order your copy through Greg's website.

According to legend, Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto arrived on the shores of Safety Harbor in 1539 believing that he had discovered the fabled Fountain of Youth. For centuries, the area's natural mineral springs had hosted the Tocobaga people and would later attract early pioneers to west-central Florida. The natural mineral springs drew visitors to bathe in their restorative waters, and in the twentieth century, they were eventually transformed into the world-famous Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, enjoyed by wealthy socialites and professional athletes for decades. Today, the city is best known for its abundance of festivals and the collection of artists, writers, poets and musicians who call it their home--an oasis of calm within bustling Pinellas County. Join authors Warren Firschein and Laura Kepner as they detail the vibrant history of scenic Safety Harbor. Available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Tupelo on 4th, the  Safety Harbor Museum & Cultural Center, or email the authors to purchase an autographed copy: safetyharborhistory@gmail.com

"A motley assortment of bad guys will have readers struggling to remember the good guys, but in the end, the persistently solid hero prevails". Kirkus Reviews.... A basic patrol officer, Bobby Salter and his partner Vinny Serpentino have just brought down the empire of two of the biggest coke dealers in Brooklyn. With a huge money bust in their back pocket, they are promoted to plain clothes officers and assigned to patrol the streets of Bobby's grandfather's old neighborhood. As his resume begins to build, Bobby's rise will take him all the way to detective as he is thrust into solving high profile cases from Manhattan to the Bronx. Salty and The Serpent is a gripping new crime thriller that will keep readers guessing until the very last page. Using a raw tone that explores society's underbelly, this exhilarating novel follows a basic patrol officer from a sector car to becoming a detective. A pulp fiction novel that uses strong street language and sexual overtones, this unique thriller will captivate readers with its grittiness and keep them coming back for more. Written in a real, non-sugar coated style, Salty and The Serpent shows readers how crimes are really solved, unlike television shows that briskly solve them in forty-five minutes or less. Incorporating realism and excitement into the world of police work, this action-packed story will leave readers breathless as they follow along with Bobby Salter. Twisting and turning as the characters come to life around it, this enthralling novel hooks readers from the very beginning and refuses to let go

Aestrid Karisson, a Viking princess who lives by her own rules; fiercely free and independent – that is, whenever she can elude the watchful eyes of her overbearing father. When she escapes for an afternoon of adventure, she never suspected to forever alter her destiny.

Captured by a band of raiding Picts,
Aestrid is adorned and bound for sacrifice. In the midst of their ritual of blood and fire, the Picts are ransacked by Veleif Kollsvein and his fearsome warriors. Reputed as the most brutal barbarian across all of the North Seas, Aestrid unwittingly trades one abductor for another. Journeying farther from her home, it isn’t until they reach Veleif’s stronghold where her true identity is discovered. Veleif refuses Aestrid’s pleas to be returned home. Determined to torment him until he complies, this vixen wages a personal war with the dark and dangerous Viking prince. But when Veleif’s high council decides the two must marry, and quickly, to unite their kingdoms – Veleif combats her with a campaign of his own. Seduction.

Will the Viking prince tame this warrior princess and claim her as his willing bride? Or will she forever see him as nothing more than her heartless enemy?

His Viking Bride is a love story filled with folly and challenge, wit and passion… by two iron-willed characters who share more than their explosive traits… the ecstasy of all-consuming love. Available on Amazon
